Benison Named to RBJ Power 30 List

ROCHESTER, NY, April 5, 2023 – Mollene B. Benison, CPA, has been named to the Rochester Business Journal’s Power 30 Accounting & Insurance list.

Benison is Practice Leader for Financial Assurance Services at DeJoy & Co., a leading regional business advisory and CPA firm. She is also Secretary of the firm’s board.

The RBJ Power List program identifies individuals who have dedicated their work to assisting members of the Rochester community navigate the ever-changing accounting and insurance needs of businesses in today’s environment.  These individuals are leading the way and informing clients of new rules and regulations, best practices, opportunities, and risks.

Benison, who joined DeJoy & Co. in 2007, has served both public and private businesses across multiple industries, providing business advisory, consultation, and financial assurance services.  With over twenty-five years of experience, Benison has developed complex expertise around financial reporting compliance through continued deep understanding and relationships with her clients.

As a longtime Partner at DeJoy & Co., Benison is known for engaging in an ongoing dialogue with each client and understanding them deeply – ensuring timely and effective service, while also playing an integral role in their decision-making.

Benison holds a BS in Accounting from SUNY Geneseo.  She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

A recipient of the Rochester Business Journal’s Forty Under 40 award, Benison also has been named a Woman to Watch by the Democrat & Chronicle. Most recently, Benison was awarded the RBJ Women of Excellence honoree. Her volunteer work includes serving as:

·        Board member and Vice-Chair for The Summit Federal Credit Union;

·        Board and Audit Committee member for the Geneseo Foundation;

·        Business Advisory Council member for SUNY Geneseo;

·        Board member and Audit Committee Chair for the Rochester Area Community Foundation; and

·        Investment Committee member for the YWCA of Rochester and Monroe County.

Benison and her husband, Dan Lynck, live in West Henrietta and have one daughter, Rachel. In her leisure time, Benison enjoys golf, vacationing, and supporting local food establishments.
