Modesti Named to RBJ Power 30 List
ROCHESTER, NY, April 5, 2023 – Christian B. (Chris) Modesti, President of DeJoy & Co., has been named to the Rochester Business Journal’s Power 30 Accounting & Insurance list.
As President of DeJoy & Co., a leading regional business advisory and CPA firm, Modesti is responsible for managing the firm’s operations and strategy. He joined the firm in 2021 as Executive Vice President.
The RBJ Power List program identifies individuals who have dedicated their work to assisting members of the Rochester community navigate the ever-changing accounting and insurance needs of businesses in today’s environment. These individuals are leading the way and informing clients of new rules and regulations, best practices, opportunities, and risks.
Promoting Modesti to President has been an integral piece of DeJoy & Co.’s robust growth strategies, says Managing Partner Michael L. Cooke.
“Knowing that he is running the day-to-day with an expert hand,” Cooke says, “while executing the firm’s strategic goals allows the Partners to focus fully on the complexities of the firm’s engagements with our clients, whose needs and expectations are growing more sophisticated every year.”
In response to questions posed by RBJ, Modesti wrote: “My expectations for the next 6 to 12 months are that our organization will continue to provide exemplary client service, grow at a structured pace, provide our staff with a positive environment in which to work, and pursue new means to successfully conduct business.”
Modesti has a wealth of expertise in corporate finance, operations, accounting, strategic planning, risk management, distribution, logistics, acquisitions, auditing, human relations, and customer service. Before joining DeJoy & Co., he was EVP of Sweeteners Plus LLC in Lakeville. Prior to that, Modesti was President of BioMaxx Inc., and he has held leadership positions at several additional companies in the energy and other sectors.
Modesti holds an MBA from the University of Rochester’s Simon Business School, and a BS from Cornell University. He is a member of Financial Executives International (FEI).
He serves as board chairman of the Summit Federal Credit Union and trustee of the University of Rochester Newman Interfaith Chapel.
Modesti lives in Geneva, NY, with his wife, Lisa, and they have three grown sons. He and his wife enjoy traveling, working out, and spending time on the water. Modesti also works as a high school lacrosse official.
